the space between

the space between is a creative tool for musicians, songwriters, and composers who want to explore music beyond habit and expectation. Inspired by Brian Eno’s Oblique Strategies, chance-based creative systems, and musical intuition, this deck invites you to compose from silence, limitation, and suggestion. Each card combines: - A harmonic instruction (chord and scale degree) - A single guiding note - A rhythmic pattern - A poetic word - A reflective instruction Draw one card for focus, or combine several cards to generate chord progressions, melodies, rhythms, and lyrical ideas. There are no rules — only prompts designed to disrupt routine and open new creative paths. Whether you are starting a song, stuck in a loop, or looking for quiet direction, The Space Between encourages you to listen differently — to the pauses, the gaps, and what emerges between sounds. This is not a game. It is a space to think, to listen, and to create. Designed for musicians, producers, and anyone who creates with sound.
