Full description
Budget Box is a monthly bill planner you fill in yourself. It starts empty. Every bill is one you typed in — a name, an amount, a category and a due day of the month — so nothing here is connected to a bank, a card or an account of any kind. Tap Add bill and the dialog takes the name, the amount, the due day from 1 to 31 and a category chip. You can create a new category from inside that dialog, and mark the bill already paid if it is. This month fills a ring with the share of your planned total that is already marked paid, shows figures for Planned, Paid and Left, and lists the three unpaid bills with the nearest due day, each with a Mark paid button that updates the ring the moment you tap it. If you set a ceiling in Settings, a panel says whether you are within budget, close to it or over, with a bar and the exact difference. The Bills tab lists every bill in due-day order. Each row shows the name, the amount, the category, the due day and whether it is paid, with a paid switch you can flip either way, an edit icon and a delete icon. A Hide paid bills switch keeps the list down to what is still open. Categories are yours to manage. Add one, rename one, delete one. Each row shows how many bills it holds and their total. Deleting a category removes its bills too, and the app tells you how many before you confirm. Stats draws a bar chart of the monthly total per category and works out your monthly total, the amount paid so far, your largest bill and how many bills are still unpaid. Settings holds the monthly ceiling, a slider for how early to warn you as you approach it, a currency-symbol field shown in front of every amount, the two list switches, a Reset paid flags button for starting a new month, and Clear all data. Both of those last two ask before they act. Budget Box does not send notifications and will not remind you when a bill is due. Everything is stored on your device. There is no account, no sign-in, no sync, no backup, no export, no ads and no internet access at all — the app has no network permission.
