Picania: thrift & resale finds

Take a pic. Know what others walk past. Picania™ turns one photo of a table or shelf into a verdict for each item it finds (up to 12 a photo): PICK with a maximum price, INSPECT with what to look at, or SKIP, and MAYBE for a thin-margin find in a category you want. Use it at estate sales, garage and yard sales, flea markets, thrift and antique stores, and auction previews. How it works • Take one photo of the table or shelf, or a barcode close-up in Quick Scan. • Your phone finds the items, reads the text and barcodes, and checks the photo before anything is uploaded. • Google's Gemini identifies the items and estimates their value. Picania computes the verdict on your phone from your Mode, Margin and interests. • Inspect an item: a close-up of the mark, the spine or the label refines the answer. Two ways to pay for cloud analysis • Sign in with Google for a Picania account. Cloud analysis is paid in scan credits: one credit per scan, five for a card grid and five more for its backs. A photo scan, close-up or second opinion you ask for is one scan. Start with 25 free credits (once per Google account), then credit packs of 100 that do not expire, or Picania Plus, a monthly subscription that renews until you cancel, with 300 credits a month (1,000 with Plus Pro). Plus credits reset after each renewal. A scan that fails before showing anything is given back, up to 20 credits a month. No key needed. • Or stay signed out and add your own Gemini API key from Google AI Studio in Settings; Google bills your Gemini account and Picania takes nothing. Signed in, your account pays; signed out, your key pays. The app never switches on its own. Without either, a book or record barcode can still be screened against the bundled first-edition and collectible CD and vinyl lists, and your history and sales still work. Modes: Flip checks resale potential. Collect looks for scarce items worth keeping. Auto tries Flip, then Collect. Margin sets the profit floor a PICK needs. Cards mode: lay up to nine trading cards in a grid, shoot once, get a row per card; flip them and shoot the backs. Sales: share an estatesales.net link into Picania to plan a sale, star a shortlist, scan on site, and share the sale with a friend. Privacy • No ads. An account is optional: sign in with Google only if you want free credits, packs or Plus. Picania never stores your e-mail or name. • Photos, results and history are stored on your phone. A photo leaves it only for the analysis you ask for, or when you send something yourself. • Your photo never passes through Picania's server. With your own key it goes straight to Google's Gemini; signed in, it goes straight to Google's Firebase AI Logic under Picania's account, and Picania's server only counts the scan. • Before upload the phone pixelates personal text it recognises (addresses, phone numbers, e-mails, names on labels where Gemini Nano is available), pixelates detected faces (not on a Cards mode grid, where cards carry printed faces) and strips location data. Best effort, not a guarantee. • On-device AI features need Gemini Nano; on a phone without it the app says what changes. Values are estimates from a model, not appraisals.
