PhoneMood

PhoneMood helps you understand the relationship between your phone use and how you feel. The app tracks active phone usage on your device and periodically asks you to rate your current mood from 1 to 10. Over time, you can review your usage, mood check-ins, and daily patterns in one place. Your usage records, mood ratings, and reports are stored locally on your device. PhoneMood does not require an account, does not include advertising, and does not upload your personal usage or mood data to a PhoneMood server. PhoneMood uses Android Usage Access to determine which apps are actively used and for how long. It may also request notification and display-over-other-apps permissions to provide mood check-in reminders. These permissions are used only for the app's stated functionality. PhoneMood is designed for self-observation and general wellness. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental health condition. About the project PhoneMood was created by Xiao Chen to support everyday self-reflection and to explore how smartphone use and momentary mood can be measured.
