Kyrios

The Greek term Kyrios (Ancient Greek: Κύριος) means "Lord" and, in religious usage, refers to God. It is used both in the Septuagint, the translation of the Hebrew Bible, and in the Greek version of the New Testament. The fish (Ichthys) was presumably used as a sign of recognition among early Christians. When a Christian met a stranger whose loyalty they needed to ascertain, they would draw one of the arches that make up the ichthys in the sand. Thus, early Christians used it as a sign of recognition to indicate the Savior. In the Old Testament, the image of the fish is sometimes linked to the uncertainty of life: "For man also does not know his time: Like fish taken in a cruel net, like birds caught in a snare, so the sons of men are snared in an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them" (Ecclesiastes 9:12). Kyrios, therefore, is the app that aspires to unite all the faithful in the name of Christ Jesus, overcoming earthly boundaries and divisions to reunite our souls with God, the one, only, and true God.
