Full description
Get car sick reading your phone? Perusa is a motion sickness app for passengers. It draws small motion cue dots around the edges of your screen that move with the car's real braking, acceleration and turns, so your eyes get the same story as your inner ear. Other motion cue apps bounce with every pothole. Perusa's dots stay still until the car actually moves you. Perusa is a comfort aid, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. It is for passengers only — never use it while driving. Perusa asks you to confirm you're a passenger before every ride. If you experience severe or persistent motion sickness, nausea or dizziness, talk to a doctor. STILL THROUGH POTHOLES Motion sickness, car sickness, travel sickness — whatever you call it, it comes from slow motion: the 0.1–0.5 Hz sway of braking and cornering. Potholes and road shake are 2–20 Hz and don't count. Perusa is built on that research. Its cues follow the slow band and ignore the rest, so the dots don't jump with your hand or the road. They stay perfectly still until something real happens. LEARNS WHAT WORKS FOR YOU Everyone's motion sensitivity is different. Say yes to Tune to me and Perusa asks how you felt after each drive — one tap on a notification, never mid-drive — then tries one small change at a time and keeps only what helps. Anything that doesn't is undone automatically. A TAP BEFORE THE BRAKE A gentle touch cue lands a moment before a brake or turn builds, so your body isn't surprised. Vision matches the motion; touch gets a head start. On at a low level by default; adjust or turn off in Settings. WORKS ON THE PHONE YOU HAVE Android 8 and up. No system update, no special hardware. The overlay sits on top of almost any app — e-books, your browser, messages, video, games — in a car, taxi, rideshare or bus. PAY ONCE. PRIVATE BY DESIGN. No subscription, no ads, no account, no trackers. Buy it once and it's yours. Perusa reads speed to know you're riding; your location is never stored and never leaves the phone. Sharing drive summaries is optional and asked once — no name, no account, never your location. HOW IT WORKS • Start Perusa, then open anything — a book, a browser, messages, games. • Dots appear around the edges of the screen, in your peripheral vision, outside the text you're reading. • Taps pass straight through — the overlay never blocks what you're doing. • Starts when the car does and stays up for the whole ride — cues don't blink out at every stop light. They stand down on their own when the drive ends. • Try it before you ride: Simulate Driving previews the cues from your couch. ALSO • Intensity slider — from barely-there to prominent. • Sensitivity and bump filter controls. • Auto-pause over apps you choose (banking, password managers). If you get queasy or carsick as a passenger — commutes, carpools, road trips — Perusa is the motion sickness relief app built for reading on the move.

What's new

New: an Off / Auto / On switch at the top. Auto shows the cues when you travel; On keeps them on screen all the time. The cues start sooner, more dots move with each turn and stop, they hold steady over potholes and speed bumps, keep going when you move your phone, and fade in and out smoothly. If an app ignores taps while the cues are on, Perusa can now pause by itself in that app. And it is lighter on older phones.
