Full description
Parallel History Timeline is an offline history app for UPSC, State PSC and other exam preparation. It covers Indian history and world history together on one timeline, from 600 BCE to 1800 CE, with detailed study notes on every ruler, dynasty and thinker. Most history preparation happens one region at a time. You learn that Ashoka renounced war after Kalinga, and separately that Qin Shi Huang was unifying China through Legalism, without ever seeing that these were near contemporaries who built empires by opposite methods and lost them just as fast. This app is built around that missing dimension. Ten world regions run side by side on one shared timeline, so any moment in history can be read across all of them at once. DETAILED HISTORY NOTES, NOT A SKELETON TIMELINE More than 300 entries carry over 90,000 words of original history notes. Every entry is broken into the topics an examination actually tests: Political history. Administration. Art and Architecture. Literature and Language. Religion and Philosophy. Economy and Trade. Society. Legacy. Comparative Lens, pairing each figure against a contemporary elsewhere in the world and explaining what the contrast reveals. This is where Mains answers come from. UPSC Angles, over 1,000 exam-focused pointers written as the specific things Prelims and Mains papers ask about. Entries also carry capitals, dynasty, reign dates and alternate names in Devanagari, Urdu and other native scripts. SYLLABUS COVERAGE Ancient India: Mahajanapadas, Magadha, Maurya Empire, Ashoka, Gupta Empire, Sangam age, Satavahanas. Medieval India: Delhi Sultanate, Vijayanagara, Bahmani, Cholas, Rajputs, Mughal Empire, Marathas, Sikh Gurus, Ahom, Mysore. World history: Greece, Rome, Byzantine, Persia, Achaemenid, Sassanid, Ottoman, China, Han, Tang, Ming, Central Asia and Southeast Asia. Thinkers and ideas: Buddha, Mahavira, Confucius, Socrates, Aristotle, Chanakya, Adi Shankara and many more. FOUR WAYS TO STUDY Parallel timeline. One continuous chronology with every region visible at the same moment, plus 134 dated world event markers. Compare mode. Pick the regions you want and read them together. Save comparisons you return to. Rotate to landscape for a full parallel view with a century by century axis. Kings and Dynasties. Switch between individual rulers and grouped dynasty spans, then open any dynasty for its full roster. Search. Find any ruler, dynasty or thinker instantly. REVISION AND QUIZ Bookmarks. Mark entries Important, To revise or Done, then work through your own revision list. Export and import it as a file. History quiz. Fifteen card decks drawn from any era, any region or both, plus a quiz built only from your bookmarks. Daily reminder. An optional study nudge at a time you choose. MAKE IT YOURS Reorder regions so the ones you study most sit on top. Reorder or hide topics so each entry opens on what matters to you. Choose Famous rulers for a focused first pass or All for the full roster including lesser known figures. Light and dark themes throughout. WORKS FULLY OFFLINE Every word is built into the app. No sign in, no account, no internet needed. Revise on a commute, in a library or anywhere with no signal. WHO IT IS FOR UPSC Civil Services aspirants preparing Prelims and Mains, State PSC candidates including BPSC, UPPSC, MPSC and others, SSC, NDA, CDS and Railways candidates, school and college history students, and anyone who wants to see how the world's civilisations lined up in time. PRIVACY Your bookmarks, quiz progress and preferences stay on your device and are never uploaded. Usage analytics can be switched off in Settings, and the full privacy policy is linked inside the app. The app is free and supported by ads. You can watch an optional ad to remove ads for 30 minutes. Parallel History Timeline is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with the Union Public Service Commission or any government examination body.
