Full description
PalmDrop makes nearby file sharing feel natural. Choose a file or use PalmDrop's supported background file-readiness feature, prepare it with a palm-grab gesture, and transfer it directly to another nearby PalmDrop device. ### Share Nearby Discover compatible PalmDrop devices using Bluetooth and the local network. Select a device you recognize, review the transfer, and send or receive files directly between nearby devices without uploading them to a PalmDrop-operated cloud service. ### Gesture-Driven Transfers Use the camera for on-device palm recognition. PalmDrop can detect supported grab and release gestures to prepare a file handoff. Camera frames and palm descriptors are processed on your device and are not uploaded to PalmDrop servers. ### New-File Readiness When the optional background-readiness feature is enabled, PalmDrop can identify supported newly created or downloaded files in supported shared-storage locations and prepare the detected file for a gesture-based transfer. PalmDrop uses the Android Accessibility Service only to provide its gesture/file-handoff functionality when the user explicitly enables that feature. The Accessibility Service is not used to read passwords, financial information, private messages, or other unrelated content, and it is not used to perform unrelated actions on the user's behalf. A persistent notification indicates when background readiness is active. The camera is used only during the short gesture-detection window required by the feature. ### You Stay in Control - Choose files manually whenever you prefer. - Enable or disable gesture-based features in the app. - Confirm first-time trusted devices with a pairing code. - Accept or decline incoming transfers. - Review transfer details before sending. - View transfer progress and recent files. - Clear PalmDrop's recent-file history without deleting the original files. ### Designed for Direct Sharing PalmDrop is designed for direct, nearby file transfers. Files are transferred between nearby devices over the local network rather than being uploaded to a PalmDrop-operated cloud service. PalmDrop does not require a user account and does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. ### Accessibility Service Disclosure PalmDrop uses Android's Accessibility Service API for its optional gesture/file-handoff functionality. When enabled by the user, the Accessibility Service helps PalmDrop provide the gesture-driven transfer workflow described above. Accessibility access is used only for this feature and is not used to collect passwords, financial information, private messages, or unrelated personal content. PalmDrop does not sell or share Accessibility Service data for advertising purposes. Users can choose whether to enable this feature and can disable Accessibility access at any time through Android settings. ### Permissions PalmDrop may request: Camera:for on-device palm and gesture recognition.
