Full description
**An instrument tuner that doesn't hide its error.** Most tuner apps say they are accurate but never tell you how accurate. Tunefork ships an accuracy report inside the app: the worst error it produced, from a quiet room to rehearsal-room noise, in plain numbers. Those numbers are re-measured on every build, and the build fails if accuracy gets worse. It is a test result, not a marketing line. ■ Just play a string No need to pick which string first. Play one and the app follows; strings you have tuned stay filled in below. You see how many cents you are off as a number and on a gauge needle, and the colour changes when you land in tune. ■ Change settings while you tune No trip to a settings screen. Guitar, bass, ukulele and violin — and the A4 reference at 440Hz, 442Hz or 432Hz — all switch right on the tuning screen. ■ Instruments Guitar tuner (standard, drop D, open G), bass, ukulele tuner, violin, mandolin, and a chromatic mode that is not tied to strings — useful for instruments like the kalimba. ■ A metronome is included Set BPM and time signature to practise. Beats are pinned to the audio timeline rather than to a clock, so a momentary stutter on screen does not push the beat. Subdivisions and presets are included too. ■ Check it on your own phone Every phone microphone is a little different. Tunefork plays a reference tone (A4) by itself and measures how differently this device's microphone hears it. ■ About ads One banner at the bottom, plus one ad in the confirmation window when you close the app. No ad ever interrupts you while you are tuning or while the metronome is running. Ad content is restricted to a family-safe rating, because instrument practice apps get used with children around. ■ Microphone Used only to hear your instrument and work out its pitch. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent anywhere. All analysis happens on your device. ■ Works without internet Tuning, the metronome and the accuracy report all work in airplane mode. Only anonymous usage statistics and ads use the internet, and the sound your microphone hears never leaves your device. Privacy policy: https://owlmakers.github.io/privacy/tunefork/en/
