Full description
Leveling Field Book draws your level run. Not a table of numbers — a drawing of the whole network: every benchmark, every loop, and exactly where the misclosure went. Differential leveling, from the first backsight to the signed report. THE SCHEMATIC — WHAT NOTHING ELSE DRAWS The app draws the run itself. Every benchmark, every turning point, every side shot, the direction of each section and its length, with the elevation difference written along the line it belongs to. A table tells you the numbers. The leveling schematic shows you the network: where the run closed, where a section was walked twice, which loops check each other, and where the misclosure went. You see the shape of a job at a glance instead of tracing it down a column of figures. Nothing is tidied up for the picture. A section walked in both directions is drawn twice, with two arrows and two values, because that is what happened on the ground. The schematic comes out as its own sheet, as small as the drawing allows with every label readable: letter up to ANSI D on feet jobs, A4 up to A0 on metric jobs, and a custom size beyond that. ADJUSTMENT YOU CAN CHECK • Least squares adjustment of the whole differential leveling network, not a proportional smear along one line. Every circuit in the job is found and checked. • The misclosure is distributed in proportion to distance: a section twice as long takes twice the correction, the way it is taught and the way it should be. • Closures on every benchmark the run lands on, with the allowable misclosure worked out from the length of the circuit and the coefficient you set. • Raw elevation, adjusted elevation, correction and standard deviation are printed for every point, so you can see exactly what the adjustment did and why. INSTRUMENT CHECK — A TWO-PEG TEST BUILT IN • Put both rods and both setups on the map, take four readings, and the app solves the collimation error and the true difference together — so you no longer have to stand exactly midway between the rods. • It reports the error per 100 ft (per 100 m on metric jobs), the same error in arc seconds, pass or fail against your tolerance, and the reading to set the cross hairs on. • The date and the value are printed in the report title block, tied to the serial number of the instrument that did the work. THE REPORT A PDF that paginates itself: title block, elevation catalogue, closures, point photographs, field book. Letter or legal on feet jobs, A4 on metric jobs. Export a job to a single file — readings, coordinates and photographs together — and import it on another phone. FOR TEACHING AND FOR TRAINING NEW CREW The same drawing is the fastest way to explain how differential leveling actually works. Students and new field hands see the loops, the direction of travel and the closure in one picture, instead of an hour over a spreadsheet. Change one reading and watch the misclosure and the corrections move. Hand a job file to a class, let them import it, and everyone is looking at the same network, the same closures and the same adjusted elevations. The arithmetic is standard and the references are printed on the sheet. IN THE FIELD • Field book by the height of instrument method. Backsight, any number of readings, foresight. Stations are numbered inside their own line — A1, A2 … close the line and the next one starts at B1. • Photographs of points with a map crop beside each one, so a benchmark is found again by whoever comes next. • A decimal comma works as well as a decimal point, whatever keyboard your phone gives you. • Coordinates come from where you place the pin on the map. If you allow location, a blue dot shows where you are; it is never saved or sent. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO No account. No sign-in. No advertising. No analytics. Your work stays on your phone; nothing is sent to the developer. It runs without a connection once the maps for a job are downloaded. Map imagery © Esri. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.

What's new

Meters or feet for each job (metric tolerance 50 mm·√L km), Russian language, A4-A0 paper for metric jobs, and the route schematic now grows to any sheet size instead of shrinking. The map shows where you are with a blue dot and a locate button (location is optional, only used on the phone while the map is open, never saved or sent). Benchmarks can be placed on the map straight from the benchmark list.
