Orphie: Mileage Tracker

Orphie is a mileage tracker and mileage log for delivery and rideshare drivers who file taxes as 1099 contractors. You start each shift and you end it. Orphie logs the business miles in between with your phone's GPS and keeps the record on your phone. How a shift works • Pick your vehicle and who you're driving for, then tap Start shift. • Drive. Orphie keeps logging with the screen locked or another app open. The driving screen shows business miles and shift time, with an estimated deduction under them. • Tap Pause for personal driving. Orphie turns location off and logs nothing until you tap Resume. • Tap End shift. Check the route map, the stops, and the business purpose. Add a note if you want, then tap Save shift. Orphie counts a stop each time you stay stopped for more than 3 minutes. Orphie doesn't detect drives on its own. You decide what goes in the log. Outside the US, you get the same log, routes, and stops, plus Summary, Statement, Export PDF, and Export CSV by calendar year, without the IRS rate estimate or Vehicle info for Schedule C. One log for everything you drive for The names you pick under Driving for label the whole shift, and one shift can be for several. Orphie never signs in to a gig app. You can add your own entries by name. The Log Each saved shift has its date, times, route, stops, Driving for names, vehicle, business purpose, and note. Search, sort, and filter by year, Driving for, vehicle, or entry type. If you correct the miles on a GPS shift, Orphie asks for a reason and keeps the original GPS miles in the record. You can also add a shift by hand, and Orphie marks it "Added by hand". Taxes • Summary: the year's business miles and the estimated standard mileage amount, at the IRS standard mileage rate for each shift's date. • Vehicle info: the information for Schedule C, Part IV, for each vehicle. Orphie logs business miles only, so lines 44b (commuting) and 44c (other) read "Not covered". • Statement: business miles by vehicle, by who you drive for, and by month. Export PDF and Export CSV each make one file for the year you choose. The PDF is in English. If the app is in another language, the PDF adds translated labels. Vehicles and odometer readings Add each vehicle you drive, with its odometer readings and the date you started using it for business. The Taxes tab lists any readings that are missing or need checking. Backup and privacy • There is no account and no Orphie server. Orphie stores your log on your phone. • Back up now saves your whole log as one file, in a place you choose, such as Google Drive. Restore replaces everything on the phone with a backup. • You can turn on an automatic copy to your own Google Drive. Orphie updates it about once a day on Wi-Fi. Orphie can't see it. • Export all data shares every record as a ZIP file. • Delete all data removes everything from the phone. Location Orphie uses location only during a shift you started. It turns location off when you pause and when you save the shift. Google Maps draws the route map. City names in business purpose is off by default. If you turn it on, Orphie sends each shift's start and end location to Google once, to find the city names. Languages Orphie is in English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. You can change the language in the app. Price Every feature is free, and there are no ads. What Orphie doesn't do Orphie keeps records. It doesn't give tax advice, file your taxes, or decide which miles qualify for a deduction. Every dollar figure is an estimate. A deduction lowers your taxable income; it isn't cash or a refund. Orphie doesn't track earnings or expenses. Ask a CPA or tax preparer about your own taxes.
