Full description
Focus Nerd is a pomodoro timer that only counts the time you actually spent focused. Leave for another app and the countdown holds where it is. Come back and it picks up again, the minutes you spent elsewhere never reach your total. Put the phone face down and let the screen go dark, and the focus session keeps running, because that is what focusing looks like. TIME AWAY IS NOT FOCUS TIME Switching apps pauses the timer. Returning resumes it. A screen that simply timed out keeps counting, and pulling down your notification shade to check something does not count as leaving. The result is a pomodoro timer that would rather be accurate than flattering. A POMODORO CYCLE, SHAPED YOUR WAY A focus block, a short break, and a longer break after a set number of rounds — the classic pomodoro cycle. Switch auto-start on and one round rolls into the next without a tap. ADVANCED POMODORO SETTINGS, ONE SET PER TASK Build up to 30 named sessions, each carrying its own focus, break and round lengths. "Chemistry" can be a 45 minute study session. "Inbox" can be 15. Choosing a session loads its whole setup, so you never edit settings before you start. A study timer, a writing timer, or a way to stop one task sprawling across an evening. IT SURVIVES BEING IGNORED A live countdown sits in your notification shade while a pomodoro runs. The end-of-session alert is an exact alarm, so it arrives on the second even if Android has frozen or closed the app and pending alerts return after a restart. When a session ends the screen lights up briefly, so you can see where you are without picking the phone up. FOCUS MODE, IF YOU WANT IT Focus mode silences the phone with Do Not Disturb for the length of the pomodoro, then hands back the setting you had before. Alarms you set elsewhere still come through, because a focus timer should not make you miss something real. It can also pin the app to the screen, so wandering off takes a deliberate act and the standard way out is always yours. FINISH THE BLOCK, EARN THE CONE Complete a focus block and you earn an ice cream cone. Longer ones pay richer flavors: berry, then chocolate, then almond. Stopping early or skipping earns nothing, which is the point, the shelf along the top only fills with work you finished. A DIAL WORTH WATCHING The countdown moves as one continuous sweep rather than jumping a second at a time, set on a dark interface made for a desk lamp and a late study session. The lines above the dial shift with what you are doing, so an idle timer, a running block, a break and a fresh cone never read the same. PRODUCTIVITY STATS THAT ADD UP Total time focused, focus sessions completed, current day streak, best streak, average session length and cone score, all in one place. See your productivity across the last 7 or 30 days as a chart, break your time down by session to find where the hours really go, and clear your history whenever you like. ALERTS ON YOUR TERMS Choose the end-of-session alert from your phone's own notification sounds, and switch sound or vibration off independently. COMPLETELY OFFLINE Focus Nerd is fully offline. It does not request internet access at all, so it could not send your data anywhere even if it wanted to. No account, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Your sessions, streak and productivity history stay on your phone, and the timer behaves exactly the same in airplane mode. Focus mode, per-session lengths and streak history are the advanced pomodoro features you grow into, not ones you must set up first. No subscription screen, no upsell, no social feed. Just a productivity timer that keeps count honestly, and gives you something small for finishing what you started.
