The Operation Eyesight India app is designed to support the mission of Operation Eyesight Universal, an international organization dedicated to preventing avoidable blindness and restoring sight in underserved communities. For nearly six decades, the organization has partnered with local health workers, hospitals, governments, and communities to provide accessible, high-quality eye care, particularly in remote and rural regions. In India, Operation Eyesight works across 90 districts in 17 states, establishing vision centres, training community health workers, and strengthening health systems to ensure lasting impact. The organization addresses not only eye care but also underlying factors affecting vision, including poverty, poor sanitation, lack of awareness, and gender inequities. Its integrated programs include school eye health initiatives, community outreach, disease control, and education to prevent vision loss at its root causes. The app provides users with information about Operation Eyesight’s programs, outreach efforts, and success stories, offering insight into how the organization transforms lives by delivering critical eye care services. Users can learn about community screenings, referral systems to partner hospitals, and interventions designed to restore sight and prevent blindness. The app is also a platform for supporters, volunteers, and donors to engage with the organization’s work, follow updates, and contribute to the mission of making vision care accessible to all. By enabling better awareness and participation, the Operation Eyesight India app strengthens the connection between communities, field workers, and the organization, helping ensure that 90% of vision loss—which is avoidable—can be prevented. With this app, Operation Eyesight continues its commitment to empowering communities to manage eye health locally, provide life-changing interventions, and create a future where every individual has the opportunity to see clearly—“For All The World To See.”
