Turn a spare Android phone or tablet into a home security camera — and watch the live picture and sound on another phone or tablet, wherever you are. CCTV Droid is a simple camera monitor with no account and no subscription. Set one device down as the camera, pair a second device to watch, and you have your own private live view of home. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Watch live video and hear live sound from the camera device • Switch between the phone's front and back camera • Take a photo from the camera whenever you want • See the camera phone's battery level right on the live screen • Works over Wi-Fi offline, without the need for Internet after pairing (only pairing needs Internet) WATCH WITHOUT INTERNET ON THE SAME WI-FI Once your two devices are paired, you don't even need the internet to keep watching: if both phones are on the same Wi-Fi network, the live camera keeps working on your local network. (Only the first pairing needs a connection.) HOW TO SET IT UP 1. Install CCTV Droid on two devices and make sure both are online. 2. On the device you want as the camera, choose "Use this device as camera." A code (and a QR code) appears. 3. On your second device, choose "Use this device as monitor" and enter the code — or scan the QR code. 4. The live camera appears on your monitor device. Leave the camera device plugged in and watch from anywhere. Newer Android versions (13 and up) add extra background and permission rules, so please follow the short instructions shown inside the app to keep the camera running smoothly.
