Om Mantra: Chanting Counter is a quiet companion for Om chanting, Aum meditation, and contemplation of the Mandukya Upanishad. HANDS-FREE OM CHANTING COUNTER Start your practice and chant at your own pace. The microphone estimates sustained voiced repetitions, so you can keep your hands still instead of tapping after every Om. See your chant count, session time, and a live audio waveform. CHOOSE YOUR PRACTICE Set an intention of 27, 54, or 108 chants, or choose an open session. Use a 5, 10, or 20 minute timer, or practise without a time limit. Choose free chanting or A-U-M contemplation with visual cues for sound and stillness. EXPLORE THE MANDUKYA UPANISHAD Read twelve brief, original verse summaries and reflection prompts. Explore A, U, M, waking, dreaming, deep sleep, and the teaching of turiya. Bookmark teachings to return to them. Chant totals are a practical aid, not a measure of spiritual realization. MAKE SPACE FOR STILLNESS Optional Android Zen mode uses Do Not Disturb access to silence notifications and calls during active practice while keeping alarms available. Your previous setting returns when you pause, finish, or leave. KEEP A PRIVATE PRACTICE JOURNAL Save session totals, durations, optional reflections, and how your practice felt. Follow your daily totals and practice streak. Your journal and settings stay on your device. PRIVATE, SIMPLE, AND OFFLINE No account, ads, or subscriptions. Core chanting, teachings, and journal features work offline. Microphone audio is processed in memory on your device; the app does not save audio recordings or upload them. Optional scripture reference links open an external website. ABOUT AUTOMATIC COUNTING This counter estimates voiced chanting repetitions; it does not recognize the word Om. Humming, speech, music, other voices, and changing background noise can affect counts. Keep the microphone uncovered and adjust sensitivity, minimum chant length, and breath gap for your voice and room. Compatible connected microphones can be used; Bluetooth performance depends on your phone and headset.
