Exchange Opinions

Exchange Opinions See what people think. Understand why. Discover what matters. Exchange Opinions is a new way to explore public opinion — built around what people actually want to talk about rather than what an algorithm decides should attract their attention. Share your opinion in a few words, explain why you think it, and see how your view compares with others. Features • Share your opinions — choose how you feel, describe the subject in seven words or fewer, and explain why. • Explore public sentiment — see how people feel about individual topics using 16 emotional and practical sentiments. • Discover emerging topics — explore what people are talking about without relying on likes, followers or engagement-driven ranking. • Local, area and regional views — see how opinion changes geographically, from your local area through to the wider region. • Demographic insights — explore how opinions differ across age groups, education, employment sectors, transport choices, marital status and other demographic categories. • Top topics — discover the subjects attracting the strongest or most widespread opinions. • Visual dashboards — explore sentiment through charts, word clouds and other visual representations rather than endless feeds of individual posts. • Explain why — opinions aren't reduced to a like or dislike. Add a justification so people can understand the reasoning behind a view. • Anonymous aggregation — individual contributions become part of the wider picture rather than a competition for personal attention. • Opinions change — contributions are designed to reflect what matters now, allowing the overall picture to evolve over time. • Explore without contributing — you don't have to post an opinion to explore what other people are thinking. Exchange Opinions is currently being piloted in Yorkshire and the Humber, with wider geographic coverage planned. Capture attention for insight, not extract attention for profit.
