NuroTok: Sensory Regulation

NuroTok helps you use your phone without being overwhelmed. It filters the content you don't want to see inside the apps you already use, and gives you calm, practical tools for the moments when everything is too much. Built for anyone who finds screens hard work: people sensitive to visual, sound or emotional triggers, neurodivergent people, people living with anxiety, and anyone who wants a gentler feed. SENSORY TOOLKIT Three tools, one tap from the home screen: • Breathe: 4-7-8 breathing, 5-4-3-2-1 grounding and a two-minute reset, guided step by step. • Sounds: white, brown and pink noise, rain and ambient music. Works offline, keeps playing in the background, with a sleep timer. • Comfort: a warm screen tint, auto-dim, brightness control and notification batching. CONTENT FILTER NuroTok watches the apps you choose and blurs, warns about or hides content across 22 categories, including violence, gore, self-harm and nudity. You decide what happens for each one. • Detection runs on your phone. Screen frames are analysed in memory and discarded, never saved and never uploaded. • Choose how covered content looks: pixelate, frosted, mosaic, solid or aurora, with optional textures. • Choose how you reveal it: tap, hold, never, or only as a deliberate unlock. • Choose how much the cover says, so nobody reading over your shoulder learns what was hidden. • Let NuroTok offer to start filtering when you open a filtered app, and set sessions to end on their own. YOUR APPS, YOUR RULES Works with Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, X, Reddit, Snapchat and LinkedIn. Give each app its own mode: • Filter: use the app as normal, with the content you chose covered. • Lite: a calmer version with Reels, Shorts and Explore switched off. • Shield: block the app, with a breathing pause or a moment of intention before it unlocks. Add daily limits, a sleep schedule that locks apps overnight, and profiles for work, family and winding down. EMERGENCY CALM MODE One switch for when you're already overwhelmed: every watched app shielded, every category hidden, the screen warmed and dimmed. Turn it off and everything returns exactly as it was. PRACTICES AND PROGRAMMES Guided meditations, sleep stories and multi-day programmes, with slow visuals that hold still if you turn on reduced motion. Mood check-ins and short self-checks help you notice how you're doing, and suggestions follow what you tell NuroTok. TALK IT THROUGH (OPTIONAL) A private space to put a hard moment into words. It asks before anything is sent, every time, keeps nothing afterwards, and puts real crisis support first if you need it. It is not therapy and never pretends to be. HOW FILTERING WORKS To see what's on screen, NuroTok uses Android screen sharing. Android asks your permission each time, and on newer versions you can share a single app. NuroTok also uses usage access to know which app is open, and permission to display over other apps to draw the cover.
