Full description
Acuity is a minimalist launcher that makes your phone work for you, and not the other way around. THE LAUNCHER Your home screen becomes a short list of the things you chose: favourite apps, shortcuts, bookmarks and folders, as plain text or a sparse monochrome icon grid. Rename anything in your own words. Everything else waits behind a swipe, with a search that can also find your contacts. No feeds, no noise, and no badges unless you ask for them. THE FOCUS TOOL - Pause before opening: a deliberately slow moment between the impulse and the app, with a message you wrote yourself. - State your intention: optionally, continuing requires typing why. - Block apps, places inside apps (like Reels or Shorts), or websites. - Daily time and open limits, schedules, and reminders inside long sessions. - Focus sessions: block a chosen set of apps until a time you set. - Commitment: lock a rule so it cannot be switched off, for up to 30 days. - Rules that understand exceptions: allow an app but block one part of it. YOUR WORDS, YOUR RULES The pause screen shows what you told it to show. Messages can carry live numbers, like how long or how many times you have been in an app today, and they rotate so they keep working. SEE IT WORKING Screen time for today and the last seven days, an optional daily goal, and the number no other stat gives you: how often the pause actually turned you back. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION Apart from Google Play's own purchase system, nothing in Acuity uses the network. No account, no analytics, no ads, no subscription. Your rules, messages, stats and contacts never leave your phone. Even crash reports stay on your device unless you choose to share one. A one-time purchase unlocks the focus features for good after a free 14-day trial. The launcher itself stays free forever. ABOUT THE ACCESSIBILITY PERMISSION Acuity can block specific places inside apps (like Reels or Shorts) and websites you choose. To do this it uses Android's accessibility service to recognise when a screen you have blocked is open, and to read the web address in your browser. It only looks for what you have told it to block, and nothing you see or type ever leaves your phone. ABOUT THE NOTIFICATION PERMISSION Optionally, Acuity can show a dot on apps with something waiting, and gather your notifications into one screen you open on purpose. Both are off until you turn them on. To do this it uses Android's notification access to see which app posted and the title and text it posted, and it is used for nothing else. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent anywhere. Leave the permission off and the launcher works exactly as it did before.
