Nerd Artisan Piano Tuner assists you throughout the entire piano tuning process. This app is designed primarily to assist you in tuning a piano while taking string inharmonicity into account, but it can also be used as a chromatic tuner for other instruments. How it works • Measure the partials of the piano strings: a dedicated tool allows you to characterize the piano strings, so that inharmonicity can be taken into account when determining an optimal tuning. • Calculate an optimal tuning: a specific tool allows you to customize the calculation by assigning different weights to different harmonic intervals. Different calculation results can be saved. You can also visualize the Railsback curve of the measured tuning and that of the calculated result. • Render the calculation result: the app includes a tool for rendering the calculated tuning, providing an approximate idea of how the intervals will sound. • Tune your piano: tune according to a calculation previously performed with the dedicated tool. The tuning tool provides sub-cent resolution. It is worth noting that the vibration frequency of a string changes during its decay. The display shows deviations with a resolution of 0.05 cents, which is considerably finer than needed for practical piano tuning. Pitch Raise For more advanced users, a Pitch Raise function is also available to assist when tuning a piano that is significantly below its target pitch. The feature is fully usable, although its workflow and interface are still being refined. Free and Pro mode All features are available in Free mode. Free mode includes advertising and limits the amount of consecutive usage time. After a usage session, the user may either wait before starting another session or, when available, watch rewarded ads to extend the usage time. Pro mode removes these time restrictions and advertising. Who is this app for? Nerd Artisan Piano Tuner is intended both for users who want guidance through the tuning process and for more experienced users who want greater control over the calculation and tuning parameters.
