Full description
We've all handed our phone to someone or left it on a table. Most messaging apps just let anyone scroll through your conversations. Cryptic Text Messenger doesn't work that way. Your encrypted messages stay encrypted — even on your own device. If someone picks up your phone, opens the app, and reads through your texts, all they'll see is a wall of scrambled characters. No passphrase, no readable messages. It's that simple. Why is this different from other messaging apps? - Most encrypted messengers protect messages while they're being sent, but decrypt everything once it lands on your phone. Cryptic Text Messenger keeps messages locked on both ends. You only see the real conversation while you're actively using your passphrase during that session. Close the app, and the messages go back to being unreadable. How does it work? - You and your contact agree on a passphrase. Set it in the app, and every message between you is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it leaves your device. When you open the conversation, you enter the passphrase to read your messages. Without it, nobody — not a nosy friend, not a jealous partner, not someone who stole your phone — can read a thing. What else can it do? - Works as a full replacement for your stock texting app - Send and receive regular SMS and MMS, photos and attachments - Encrypt specific contacts — leave others as normal, unencrypted texts - Import your existing message history - Quick reply from notifications - Recover deleted messages from the trash - Brute-force protection locks out after 5 failed passphrase attempts No servers. No accounts. No cloud. Everything happens on your phone. There's no sign-up, no server storing your keys, and no internet connection needed. Your passphrase never leaves your device. The encryption standard — AES-256-GCM with 100,000-iteration PBKDF2 key derivation — is the same one used across banking and defense. Set it as your default SMS app Use it for all your everyday texting. Turn on encryption only for the conversations you want to keep private. Everyone else gets normal SMS with no extra steps. Your phone might not always be in your hands. Your messages should still be private when it isn't.
