Full description
Narbis Edge HRV is a paced-breathing trainer. It reads your heartbeat from a heart-rate sensor, paces your breathing, and shows you, beat by beat, how organized your heart rhythm is while you breathe. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Your heart rate already rises and falls with every breath. Slow, even breathing makes that swing large and regular, and at around six breaths a minute it lines up with a rhythm your circulation already has. The app paces you there and shows a live coherence score from 0 to 100: a measure of how organized your heart rhythm is, not how fast or how healthy. With Narbis Edge glasses, the lenses cue your breath: they tint as you breathe in and clear as you breathe out, so you can train with your eyes off the screen. No glasses to hand? Training works without them, with the on-screen cue, a breath chime and an optional haptic cue. What you need • A Bluetooth heart-rate sensor. The Polar H10 chest strap is recommended, and it is the only sensor that enables Settle & Find. The Polar H9, Polar Verity Sense and Coospo HW807 also connect. • Or, with no sensor: an experimental fingertip pulse reading from your phone's rear camera. It needs a rear camera with a flash the app can control, and Settings tells you whether your phone has one. Camera readings are unvalidated and are kept apart from your sensor history. • Narbis Edge glasses are optional. • Android 12 or later, with Bluetooth Low Energy. Every training needs a heart-rate sensor or the camera reading: without one there is nothing to measure. What it does • Paced breathing that opens at six breaths a minute. Set pacer holds the rate you choose; Follow watches the rhythm you are already breathing at and eases you down from there. • Settle & Find (Polar H10): settles you, tries a series of rates, and holds the one your heart responds to most strongly. • A live coherence score, breath graph and beat-by-beat heart trace. • Keeps running with the screen locked, with a notification showing the time left and an End button. • A summary after every training, and a history to look back on. • Short reads on how HRV, breathing and coherence work. • Also included: attention tests (N-CPT, Go/No-Go, Flanker), self-report check-ins (PHQ-9, GAD-7, ASRS) and a journal. • Settings for the glasses' lens response, brightness and strobe, and glasses firmware updates. Your data stays on your phone No account, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics. Trainings, check-ins, test results and journal entries are stored only on this phone and are not backed up to the cloud. Nothing is sent to Narbis. To take a training elsewhere, export it yourself from its summary through Android's share sheet. The only thing the app downloads is glasses firmware, from Narbis's public release page on GitHub, and only when you check for an update. You can delete your records at any time in Settings, and any journal entry from the entry itself. Please read Narbis Edge HRV is a training tool, not a substitute for care from a qualified professional: consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. The check-ins are screening questionnaires, not diagnoses. Wear the glasses only while seated or standing still, never while driving, cycling or walking. The glasses' strobe setting flashes the lenses: do not use it if the wearer has a history of photosensitive epilepsy.

What's new

Narbis Edge HRV for Android 10 or later. Pair a Polar H10 or H9 chest strap (or a Verity Sense / Coospo armband) and, if you have them, Narbis Edge glasses, then run a breathing training. On Android 10 and 11 the app asks for location permission, which those versions require for Bluetooth scanning, and needs the phone's Location switch on; Edge never reads or stores where you are. Not a medical device. Problems: [email protected]
