Full description
Readobo is a speed reading trainer that helps you read faster without losing what you read. Short daily drills retrain the habits that slow you down, and a reading comprehension test at the end of every chapter keeps your speed honest. Most people still read one word at a time, eyes stopping too often, an inner voice repeating every word (subvocalization). Readobo retrains that in a few minutes a day. WHY READOBO • No ads — no exercise is locked behind watching a video • No paywall before you have tried it: the 10 levels of Chapter 1 are completely free • Your progress lives in your account, so a new phone changes nothing WHAT YOU ACTUALLY TRAIN Reading faster is five separate skills. Readobo tracks each one: • Eye mechanics — fewer, longer fixations and cleaner jumps between lines • Perception — recognizing a word in a flash instead of decoding it • Words and chunks — taking in groups of words instead of single words • Flow — holding a steady pace instead of drifting back over what you read • Reading comprehension — the skill that decides whether the speed counted 16 SPEED READING EXERCISES • Schulte table — find the numbers in order, fast; the classic focus drill for a wider visual span • Peripheral flash — eyes locked on the centre, catch the word flashing to the side • Tachistoscope — numbers flash for milliseconds; it finds your recognition threshold • Phrase pyramid — each line gets wider; take it in a single glance • Number catch, short and long word — type back what you saw; a quick visual memory drill • Phrase catch and chunking — read meaningful groups, not one word at a time • Word spot — find the target word in a scattered field, against the clock • Line jumps — grab a line in two or three glances instead of crawling across it • Guided and rhythm reading — a highlight and a steady beat pull your eyes ahead of your inner voice • Sentence flow and RSVP speed reader — words streaming at a single focal point • Reading test and chapter test — real reading, then questions 10 BELTS, 91 LEVELS The roadmap runs from white belt to black belt, then master. Every belt repeats the same drills at a higher reading speed — from 220 to 550 words per minute (wpm). Your belt is the honest measure of your reading speed: the fastest pace at which you still pass the questions. This is not a one-off reading speed test; it is step-by-step speed reading practice. READING COMPREHENSION IS THE GATE Every chapter ends with a reading comprehension test. A chapter you did not understand will not open the next one. Speed that costs you the content is skimming, not reading — which is why the target tops out at 550 wpm instead of promising thousands. FOR TIMED READING SECTIONS Long passages with main idea, inference and author's purpose questions, read at exam pace. Useful practice for timed reading sections such as the SAT, IELTS or TOEFL reading parts. READ YOUR OWN BOOKS FASTER Import your own PDF or EPUB, or scan a printed page with your camera (OCR). Scanning happens on your device; the photo is never uploaded. Then choose how the text is served: • Word by word (RSVP) • Groups of three • Highlighted blocks • A curtain that hides what you have already read • Focus mode that keeps only your line sharp • Page by page, like an exam paper Reading speed is a slider you control, and haptic pulses keep the beat. FREE PRACTICE Any exercise, any speed, any number of reps, outside the roadmap. THE HABIT PART A daily goal, a day streak, an evening reminder, points, badges, 19 characters to unlock and a leaderboard. Five minutes a day beats one long session a month — and it is how a reading habit sticks. Readobo works offline, and content comes in English and Turkish. For students, exam takers, professionals buried in reports and anyone who wants to read faster and read more books. Chapter 1 is completely free. The rest unlocks with Readobo Premium.
