Full description
Getting a teen from learner permit to license takes hours of supervised practice: 50 in California, 65 in Pennsylvania, 40 in Texas, many of them at night. Wheeltime is the driving hours tracker that keeps the log for you, so every drive counts and nothing is lost on a scrap of paper. TAP START, TAP END The supervising adult starts the timer when your teen pulls out and ends it when you park. The timer keeps running if the phone locks, and a drive you forgot to time can be added afterwards. NIGHT HOURS, COUNTED FOR YOU Wheeltime works out how much of each drive happened after sunset in your state and adds it to the night hours on its own. Tag rain, snow or fog and the drive counts toward bad-weather hours too. YOUR STATE'S GOAL, BUILT IN The supervised hours every US state and DC asks for are built in, including night and bad-weather hours, with the permit age and holding period. Pick your state and the goal is set, or enter your own goal if you live somewhere else. ONE LOG FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY Mom, Dad, grandparents and the teen join with a six-letter family code. Every drive anyone supervises lands in the same log, live on every phone. Two teens learning at once? Add both. SEE THE FINISH LINE Watch the hours add up against the goal, see how much night driving is left, and get an estimate of when your teen will be done at your current pace. SKILLS BEFORE THE ROAD TEST A checklist of the skills new drivers need: mirrors and blind spots, turns, lane changes, parallel parking, highway merging, roundabouts, night driving, rain, heavy traffic and more. Tick them off together. READY FOR THE DMV Export the full log as a PDF: every drive with date, start and end time, minutes, night minutes, conditions and supervisor, with the totals and a signature line. Many states have their own certification form: copy the totals onto it and keep the log with it. WEEKLY REMINDER A gentle weekly nudge with the hours still to go helps you keep practice regular. FREE, NO ACCOUNT Every feature is free for the whole family, supported by ads. No account, no email, no password. Ads never interrupt a drive. Safety first: the supervising adult runs the app from the passenger seat. The driver keeps both hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. State requirements come from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), September 2026. Rules change, so check with your state's driver licensing office before the road test.
