Full description
your attention span didn't disappear. it's just buried under 4 hours of short-form video. brainfloss is a pomodoro-style focus timer built for people who grew up online: 25 minutes of locked-in focus, 5 minutes of guilt-free break, a long break every 4 rounds. every completed session feeds your daily brainrot score — a 0-to-100 number that tells you, honestly, whether today was a focus day or a rot day. no feeds, no infinite anything. why another timer? because most focus apps politely look away while you check your phone 14 times per "focus session." brainfloss doesn't. the brainrot detector (optional, on-device, no accessibility snooping — it only listens to the lock screen) counts every time you unlock your phone mid-focus and docks your score 2 points per peek. three unlocks in one session and the app will gently roast you for it. shame, it turns out, is a productivity tool. how it works: hit "lock in" and the timer runs in a foreground service that survives backgrounding, doze mode, and reboots — your 25 minutes finish even if you lock the phone and walk away. finish a session and an ai-generated tip suggests how to spend the break. sessions, streaks, and scores are stored on your device, with an optional google sign-in that backs them up so your history can follow you to a new phone. history shows every session with receipts; settings let you tune focus and break lengths, flip between four themes (default, y2k, brainrot, quietcore), toggle sounds and haptics, and change your ad privacy choices whenever you want. streak milestones get confetti. completed sessions get a chime and a "ur brain said thx." the whole app respects reduced-motion settings and works with talkback. brainfloss is for students who doomscroll between lectures, developers who alt-tab to social feeds during builds, and anyone whose screen time report is a jump scare. it's free, paid for by a single banner that shows up only on break screens — never during a focus session, never on the home screen with your finger over "lock in." it has no analytics, and it only ever backs up your data if you ask it to. floss the rot. lock the in. your attention span grows back — 25 minutes at a time.

What's new

sessions can have names now. tap "add a label" before you lock in, and history tells you what you actually worked on instead of just that you showed up. a label sticks until you change it, and you can fix a wrong one afterwards by tapping the session in history.
