Cofferlock

Cofferlock keeps your private photos, videos and documents in one encrypted vault file on your phone, with a real file manager inside. For anyone who wants personal files behind a password and an optional fingerprint. Features • One vault, one file: a single encrypted file that looks like random data. Keep it in a folder you choose, or inside the app (then it is deleted with the app's data). Copying the file is your backup. • Unlock with your password or fingerprint. A 12-word recovery phrase opens the vault if you forget the password. • Folders, list or grid view with photo and video thumbnails (kept in memory only), sort, search and multi-select to move, rename or delete. • Filter by Photos, Videos, Audio or Documents; with search open, a filter also lists matches in subfolders. • Import files, photos and videos, or a whole folder with its subfolders. You choose whether to keep or delete the originals. • Open a file in another app without Cofferlock writing a decrypted copy. Access is read-only and ends when the vault locks. • Share files, or copy out files or whole folders with their subfolders. Anything copied out is a normal, unencrypted file. • AES-256-GCM encryption on every 4 KB block; the password is protected by Argon2id. • Auto-lock 30 seconds after you leave the app, plus a Lock button. • Growing waiting times after wrong passwords; the Security tab shows recent unlocks, locks and failed attempts. • Screenshots blocked by default, hidden in Recents, and recovery words always protected from screenshots. • Copied text is cleared from the clipboard after 30 s. • Rename a vault, or change its password at once without re-encrypting files. • Check & repair restores a damaged header from its backup copy. A damaged vault is repaired while opening where possible, and is reported as damaged, not as a wrong password. • See the vault size and reclaim space after deleting files. • A card shows how many exact duplicates the vault holds. • Phones, tablets and foldables, with two panes on large screens; light and dark themes. • 11 languages: English, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Turkish. Free vs Pro The free version includes everything above, with a vault of up to 5 GB. Pro is a one-time purchase, no subscription, and adds: unlimited space; several vaults; a decoy vault behind a second password; an encrypted Trash (7 or 30 days); removing duplicates; moving a folder's media into the vault; adding files from any app's share menu; sealed envelopes (a small vault with its own password); show mode; a PIN on single folders; another app name and icon; an emergency erase password; erasing after 10 or 20 wrong passwords; shake to lock; custom auto-lock times; a Quick Settings lock tile; blurred thumbnails; a scrambled keypad; clipboard timing; one-tap backup with a reminder; Argon2id settings; the full security history; and a file's SHA-256. The Supporter edition has the same features. Restore purchase turns Pro back on for the account that bought it. Privacy Your files never leave your phone unless you open, share or copy them yourself. No account, no cloud, no sync. Cofferlock uses the internet to check for app updates and, if you buy Pro, to confirm the purchase with Google Play. No ads, no analytics or crash-reporting service; a local crash log is shared only if you choose. Android backup and device transfer of app data are off. No storage, camera, microphone, contacts, location or notification permission; files come in through the system file picker.
