Full description
Simple Expense Book is a lightweight expense tracker for people who just want to write down what they spent. Type the amount, tap income or expense, pick a category, save — about three seconds per entry. See this month's income, spending, and balance on one screen, review the last six months as a bar chart, and check which categories are eating your budget. No bank connection, no account, no permissions — the app runs fully offline and nothing you enter is sent to a server of ours. Most money apps ask you to link accounts and hand over logins before you can log a single coffee. This one works the other way around: you type, the app does the math. Three seconds per entry • Amount, income or expense, category, date, and an optional memo — that is the entire form • Today's date is filled in for you, so most entries are a number and two taps • Tap any row in the list to edit it, or delete it from the same screen Your month on a single screen • Income, expenses, and remaining balance summed up at the top of the home screen • Move between months from the header to look back at any past month • The list shows the category icon, amount, and memo for every transaction Charts that answer one question: where did it go? • Bar chart comparing income and expenses across the last six months • Category share bars for the selected month, so an unusual month stands out immediately • Drawn in a plain, readable style — nothing to configure, no learning curve Categories that fit your life • Eight categories ready from the first launch (six for spending, two for income) • Add your own — pets, tuition, side income, whatever you actually track • Free version supports up to 10 categories in total, and built-in ones can't be deleted by accident No permissions, no account, no network Simple Expense Book requests zero Android permissions. No storage, no location, no contacts, not even notifications. There is no sign-up and no bank linking, and the app works with mobile data turned off. Everything you enter is stored in a database on your phone and never reaches a server of ours, which is exactly why nothing is asked of you at install time. With no account there is no cloud sync between devices either. What you do have is Android's own automatic backup: it is left switched on for this app, so if you use device backup, your records can be included in the backup Android makes to your own Google account and come back when you set up a new phone or reinstall. That is an operating-system feature you control in Android's settings, not a service this app runs. For a copy you can open and keep yourself, use CSV export. Also included • Fully offline — airplane mode friendly • English, Korean, Japanese, and Spanish, with amounts and dates formatted for your locale • Small download, fast cold start — open, log, get on with your day Free, with a fair one-time upgrade The free version includes everything above, up to 10 categories, and is supported by a small banner plus an occasional full-screen ad. Premium is a single one-time purchase of $4.99 — not a subscription — and unlocks three things at once: CSV export, unlimited categories, and no ads ever again. CSV export copies your transactions to the clipboard in spreadsheet format (date, kind, category, amount, memo) and shows you a preview first, so you can paste them straight into a spreadsheet, a note, or an email. Whether you're managing a first paycheck, splitting rent with a roommate, or just trying to find out where the month went, Simple Expense Book keeps the habit small enough to actually stick with. Log today's first expense and watch your month take shape.
