Most metronomes click. Pulse & Pause stops clicking — and that's the point. Built around the Gap Click exercise, it alternates bars of click with bars of silence. When the click drops out, nothing tells you where the beat is except your own time. When it comes back, you find out immediately whether you drifted. Placement is computed by absolute frame index, so it doesn't drift and doesn't jitter with buffer size — verified to stay within one frame of ideal over ten minutes of continuous playback. That matters more here than in an ordinary metronome. If the click itself wanders, a timing exercise built on silence is measuring the app instead of you.
