MD Weather Alerts is built for Maryland. It gives you the alerts that matter to your home, your saved places and where you are, a live community of neighbors reporting real conditions, and Skywatch, a game that gets you outside to look at the sky. ALERTS THAT ARE YOURS - Only your Home Zone, your saved places and where you actually are. No statewide noise. - Severe weather is handled calmly and clearly: what is happening, where, and what to do. - Conditions and rain come from the National Weather Service station nearest you, and the card says which one. SKYWATCH: THE SKY GAME Skywatch turns Maryland into a place worth looking up at. - Visit real stations: parks, overlooks, beaches, lighthouses and landmarks. Each station page has a photo and short history, the sun's arc, and tides and water temperature on the coast. - Answer the Daily Sky Check. Tell us what the sky looks like. If you like, tick "Also post as a public report" and your answer appears as a weather report on the map and in Community. Leave it off and it stays in the game. - Add a photo at a station for a +100 point bonus, up to five a day. - Catch drops: rainbows, frost, snowflakes, golden hour, heat waves and gales appear at stations for a few hours. Collect them in your Skydex. - Try the Wind check: point your phone where the wind is coming from and see how close you were. - Leave field notes, place a rain gauge or thermometer, and join the live feed, weekly goal and Sky Quiz. - Use the Sky Radar, a real map with streets and tappable pins. Pick 0.5, 1, 2 or 5 miles, and turn on Heading up to follow your compass. - Climb the ranks with new medallion emblems, follow the Rewards Road to your next reward, and unlock earned themes and app icons that cannot be bought. Safe by design: stations and actions lock inside active warning areas, public locations are delayed and randomized, and your Skywatch points go into your one MD Weather Alerts balance. COMMUNITY REPORTS - Report what you see in a few taps: rain, fog, snow, sunshine and more, with an optional photo. - Sky snap: one tap from Home turns your photo into a post and a report. - Community is one feed, newest first, with live county rooms that come alive during a storm. Double tap to like. MAPS AND RADAR - Radar with corrected colors, map layers, report pins and rebuilt report cards. - A compact radar card on Home that rests when a warning is active. MAKE IT YOURS - 49 color themes, each in light and dark. - MD+ (optional subscription) adds extra perks and supports the app. Every alert and every Skywatch feature works without it. PRIVACY - Location is used only while the app is open. Public report locations are randomized, and reports and photos are moderated. - You can request deletion of your data at any time.
