Only messages deleted for everyone appear in Recover Deleted Chats — normal messages you opened or dismissed are not listed. This feature is strictly opt-in, disabled by default, and requires your explicit consent. All recovered messages stay on your device in a private database — nothing is ever uploaded to any server.
