Notes Widget for Markdown

See your notes without opening an app. Notes Widget for Markdown reads a folder of plain .md files you pick — through Android's own file picker, nothing proprietary — and shows them as cards or a compact list right on your home screen. WORKS WITH OBSIDIAN, OR WITHOUT IT Built with Obsidian users in mind, but it doesn't need Obsidian installed. Any app that writes plain Markdown files to a folder works the same way. Tap a note to open it in Obsidian, your device's default Markdown app, or choose every time. TWO WIDGET STYLES Cards show a rendered preview — headings, links, lists, checkboxes, strikethrough. The compact list shows just note titles, so more fit on screen. Use either, or both. MAKE IT YOURS Per-note height, text size and colour. Drag to reorder. Swipe a card aside to delete the file — for real, there's no trash, so it asks first. GIT SYNC AT A GLANCE If your notes folder is a git repository — Obsidian Git, Git Sync, plain command-line git, doesn't matter — a small chip shows the last commit, a stuck merge, or unpushed work. No git repo? The chip falls back to when a note last changed. QUICK CAPTURE A second button appends a line to one file you choose, for the "note this before I forget" moment — no need to open the full note. YOUR NOTES STAY YOURS The app doesn't copy, convert or upload your notes anywhere — it reads the files you already have, in place. This build includes optional, anonymous crash reporting and usage analytics to help find bugs; it's off until you say otherwise on first launch, and can be turned off any time in settings.
