Full description
MapSight turns your phone or tablet into an offline field-mapping tool. Import your own maps and site data, see yourself on them with live GPS and keep working where the mobile network doesn't reach. Built for mining, survey, exploration, utilities — and just as at home on a hike or a ride. IMPORT YOUR OWN DATA • DXF (CAD linework, in its own colours), KML/KMZ, GPX, Shapefile, CSV, GeoTIFF, GeoPDF and GeoJSON • Open a file from anywhere on your device — tap it in your Files app, an email or a share, and MapSight is one of the choices • Organise layers into folders; show, hide, rename, recolour and export any layer • Tap a feature to see what it is; names are drawn along your own lines on the map PAPER PLANS • A georeferenced PDF lands on the map by itself • A plain PDF — a mine plan, a trail map, a scan — you place by hand, by matching points on the sheet to points on the map • Export a placed sheet back out as a georeferenced PDF other mapping apps can read WORK OFFLINE • Download the map for an area you choose, the places in it, and the shape of the land — hill shading, 3D terrain and ground heights keep working with no signal • Download the walking, riding and vehicle trails around you (from OpenStreetMap) • Or load your own offline basemap and imagery files (.pmtiles) • Satellite imagery is shown live when you have signal; the street map, places, trails and terrain are what you download • Everything is stored on your device — no account, no sign-in LIVE GPS AND REAL COORDINATES • Your position on your own maps, with accuracy shown honestly • Read coordinates in latitude/longitude, UTM (any zone, worldwide), Australia's MGA, a named national grid, or your own from an EPSG code, proj4 string or .prj file • Show two coordinate systems at once FIELD TOOLS • Drop colour-coded pins that carry a description, an image, comments — and a status in your own words ("Barricaded", "Washed out", whatever the job calls for) • Measure distances and areas; draw shapes; capture numbered point jobs • Record your trips: live speed, time and climb on screen as you go, and a trip report when you press Done — route, figures, height profile and speed in one picture you can send to anyone • Find places by everyday words — "servo", "coffee", "campsite" — even offline in a downloaded area 3D VIEWER • Open STL, OBJ, PLY, LandXML and CAD surfaces at their real position • DXF linework in 3D in its original colours • Stand inside geotagged 360° photos with your design data overlaid • Cut a section through everything loaded; compare two surfaces with a heat map; measure cut-and-fill volumes; measure directly on the data • Measure through the camera with AR EXPORT, SHARE AND KEEP IT SAFE • Points to CSV, linework to DXF (in your site grid) or GeoJSON • Tracks, routes and trails to GPX — ready for a watch, bike computer, Strava or Garmin • Back up everything — files, photos, PDFs, 3D models, settings — to one file, and restore it on any Android device • Exports save to Documents/MapSight on your device MapSight is offline-capable by design: the internet is used only to fetch maps, places and trails you ask for, and everything you download keeps working without it. Your data stays on your device. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Satellite imagery by Esri and partners.

What's new

-New: Get started - four quick ways to your own maps: find yourself, download the map for your area, get the trails around you, or open a file. -The Tutorial now ends back where you were, then moves to your position if your GPS has a fix. -An empty Layers panel offers the trails for what's on screen. -Clearer first-screen buttons, and the Download choices are no longer cut off. -A CSV export now leaves the height blank for a point that has none, instead of writing 0.
