Full description
Written arithmetic, worked the way it is taught at school. Long division, column addition, subtraction and multiplication — on squared paper, digit by digit, with the carries and the borrows in the places a teacher puts them. Not a solver that prints an answer: a page your child fills in, checked one figure at a time. TWO MODES • Show me — the exercise works itself out, a step at a time, and every step is a sentence: "7 plus 5 is 12, so write 2 and carry 1." • Check me — your child writes it. Every figure is checked as it lands, not at the end of the sum. THE MISTAKE, NOT THE ANSWER A wrong figure never gives away the right one. The app names the rule that step is about — "remember the carry from the column on the right" — and lets your child try again. Ask again and the help gets more specific, one rung at a time. TWO WAYS OF WRITING IT Schools do not all write a division the same way, so pick the one your child is taught: • 144 : 12 = 12, the way it is written across continental Europe • the bus stop, the way it is written in Britain and the US The borrowing changes with it — a small one in front of the figure, or the neighbour crossed out and rewritten. The choice is separate from the language of the app, because a Polish child using the English interface still needs Polish division. FOUR OPERATIONS, NINETEEN EXERCISES From adding without carrying to dividing by a two-figure number, with carrying across a zero, a nought in the middle of the multiplier and a nought in the answer along the way. Pick whatever the class is doing this week. SEE WHERE THE GAPS ARE The progress page counts mistakes by kind — forgotten carry, borrowing, wrong column, a slip in the tables — and lists the facts that keep costing marks. That is the page to read before deciding what to ask at breakfast. MADE TO BE LEFT ALONE WITH • Works offline: every rule, exercise and figure on the progress page works with the radio off • No account, no sign-up, nothing to log in to • No videos between exercises, no pop-ups, no countdown • One banner at the top, and a one-off purchase that removes it for good • Light and dark, both drawn by hand • English, Polish and German, with the notation chosen separately

What's new

First release. Written arithmetic on squared paper: long division, column addition, subtraction and multiplication, one figure at a time. • Show me walks an exercise through, step by step, in sentences • Check me checks every digit as it lands, and names the rule behind a mistake rather than the answer • Continental and British/US notation, chosen separately from the language • Nineteen exercises across the four operations • A progress page that says what keeps going wrong
