Aruana: Scam Detector

Aruana helps you find out whether a message is a scam before you click, pay or reply. The analysis happens on your phone: the text you analyze is not sent anywhere. HOW TO USE • Paste the suspicious message, or tap Share in WhatsApp, SMS, email, your browser or gallery and choose Aruana. • Select text in any app and choose "Check scam with Aruana" from the menu. • Get the result right away: what is wrong, why, and what to do. WHAT IT CHECKS • Scam messages: fake relatives ("I changed my number"), delivery fees, fake banks, fake support, prizes, bills, ransomware and more. • Bills (boletos): validates the payment line, the bank, the amount and the due date, and flags signs of tampering. • PIX: checks the copy-and-paste code and the QR code (the code's signature and the recipient's name) and warns when it was altered. • QR codes: reads the QR from images and PDF pages and checks the link (the fake-QR scam). • PDFs and files: warns about PDFs with hidden code, deceptive names, programs and apps from outside the store. • Remove sensitive data: strips ID numbers, phone numbers, emails, PIX keys and names from a text before you paste it elsewhere. • Check this phone: looks for remote-access apps (such as AnyDesk and TeamViewer), third-party accessibility services and other signs scammers use. PRIVACY • The analysis runs on the device, with models that ship inside the app. It works without internet. • No sign-up, no ads, no trackers. • Only what you choose to send in "Help improve Aruana" leaves the device, after you see the text already without personal data and confirm. • Optional: download an AI model to write better explanations. Only the model file is downloaded; what you analyze never goes with it. Aruana is an aid, not a guarantee: no detector is always right. When in doubt, confirm through another channel, by calling the person or the company on their official number. Also available as an extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and as an iPhone app.
