Forest Commando adalah game 2D Action Shooter bertema pertempuran di tengah hutan tropis. Pemain mengendalikan seorang komando yang harus menghadapi pasukan musuh sambil bergerak melewati medan hutan, tebing, sungai, dan air terjun. Gameplay menggunakan sistem side-scrolling, dengan karakter dapat bergerak ke kiri dan kanan, melompat, serta menembak musuh menggunakan senjata. Pemain juga dapat memanfaatkan platform bertingkat untuk berpindah posisi dan menyerang musuh dari tempat yang lebih strategis. Di layar terdapat 3 indikator nyawa, bar HP/energi, jumlah amunisi, dan score. Kontrol permainan dilengkapi joystick virtual di sebelah kiri serta tombol aksi di sebelah kanan untuk membantu pemain bergerak dan melakukan serangan. Musuh akan muncul di sepanjang perjalanan dan harus dikalahkan untuk mendapatkan skor.
