Scrolon Crest

Two torn pieces either belong together or they do not, and the eye is a poor judge of which. Scrolon Crest replaces the guess with a measurement you can inspect. 1. Photograph a fragment beside a scale card. Set the scale by tapping the two ends of the rule, and every reading from then on is in millimetres. 2. Tap 👆 along the torn edge. The ridges and notches become a crest profile — a measured line, not a sketch over a picture. 3. Read the sheet and enter what it shows: fibre pitch on the front, fibre pitch on the back, caliper class, ruled-line pitch and seam offset. 4. Let the bench work. Scrolon Crest weighs every pair of fragments in every relative orientation and scores four independent terms — contour agreement, fibre continuity, ruling phase and seam alignment — with caliper and tone acting as hard exclusions. 5. Judge what comes back. Every candidate is ranked with the reason ❓ it ranks there, and a Grounds for doubt section naming what argues against it. Accept a join, or refuse it and keep the pair on the list 📋 with your note 📝. Accepted joins assemble on a glass plate at true scale, the gaps hatched where nothing has been placed yet. Scrolon Crest reports the reconstructed column width and the sheet height beneath the plate, and both move as you rearrange the pieces. A reference bench carries the supports, the conservator's kit, the housings and the join faults worth recognising — the mirror flip, the coincidental fibre pitch, the join proposed straight across a seam. Scrolon Crest never declares a join. It reports measured agreement and the grounds for doubt, and leaves the decision with you. Everything is measured and kept on your own device 📱.
