Veyra

Painting a hard bait is not one job, it is nine or ten small ones in the right order, each with a wait built into it. Veyra is the bench where that order gets settled before you pick up the airbrush. Choose a bare blank, stack the schedule coat by coat — sealer, base, mesh-scale bands, blush, detail, the eye, the clear — and the card answers back as you build it: what has to be masked before what, how long each coat wants to flash off, how many mist coats it really takes to bury the base at the coverage you asked for, how thick the film is getting, and which finish faults that particular stack is inviting. The bait itself is drawn beside the register and repainted every time the stack changes, so the schedule and the picture are the same thing seen two ways. Nothing on that card is looked up: every figure Veyra prints is worked out from the coats you actually stacked, on the blank you actually picked. Key features: - A live Canvas render of the bait, growing coat by coat as you build the card — eight blank forms, from a fat square bill to a hinged glider and a paddle-tail body. - A numbered coat register: paint, technique, mask, flash-off and film for every coat, reorderable, with the governing rule named when a verdict changes. - Coats-to-opacity worked out per colour instead of guessed, so a transparent candy over a white base tells you the number before you spray it. - A film-build stack in microns with your own over-build line, and a cure dial reading flash-off, handle, hang-hardware and full cure. - Ten scheme families — red head, perch bar, fire tiger, shad, clown, crawfish, chrome and blue, ghost minnow, frog, blueback herring — each drawn on the blank you are working, and each loadable straight into a card. - A locker of twelve paints, five clear systems and ten finish faults, every fault with its cause and its fix: blush bloom, orange peel, fisheye, bleed-through, run and sag, hook rash and the rest. - Photograph the bait after each coat. The shots sit in a strip beside the coats you planned, and any one of them can be reshot or cleared. - Save a finished card to your photos as a schedule sheet — the head, the register, the cure block and the bait — and keep it with the piece.
