HOW IT WORKS Open BarScout and see the bars near you, each with a live crowd level from Dead to Packed. Tap one for recent reports, tonight's specials, and what the venue has posted. When you're out, take two seconds to report what you see. That's it. Your report is what makes the next person's night better. EARN AS YOU SCOUT Reporting earns Scout Points. Reports filed while you're physically at the bar are GPS-verified and worth double, because they're the ones other people can trust. Points move you up through Rookie, Scout, Veteran, Elite and Legend. Along the way you'll unlock badges for streaks, accuracy, and exploring new places. Keep visiting the same bar and you'll climb its venue tiers, from Regular all the way to Hall of Fame. SEE WHERE YOUR FRIENDS ARE Share your friend code, and you'll see which bars your friends are at tonight — but only if they choose to share. Turn Share Tonight off and nobody sees where you are. Check-ins disappear on their own after a few hours. Compare Scout Points on three leaderboards: your local market, nationwide, and just among friends. WHAT VENUES POST Bars that have claimed their page can post tonight's specials, events, and photos or short video of what's happening right now. It expires at the end of the night, so what you see is current. WHERE WE'RE LIVE BarScout is currently live in Hampton Roads, Virginia — Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News and the surrounding area. We're expanding city by city. If you're somewhere else, the app will tell you, and you can ask us to come to your city. You can still browse by ZIP code to look around. YOUR LOCATION STAYS YOURS We use GPS for two things: showing you nearby bars, and confirming you're at a venue when you report. We don't store your coordinates on our servers, and we never sell your location or use it for advertising. Location access is optional.
