A logic puzzle played with chess pieces. No opponent, no turns, nothing to capture — one rule to satisfy. Place every piece on the board so that no two of them attack each other. That is the whole rule, and 67,676 boards are built on it — a logic puzzle for anyone who likes chess, brain teasers and quiet deduction. HOW IT PLAYS: - Take a piece from the shelf and tap a square to put it down. - Tap a piece already on the board to see every square it attacks. - Pieces that attack each other turn red, so a mistake is never hidden. - Nothing blocks a line: a piece standing between two others does not shield them. THE BOARDS: - 67,676 puzzle boards, from 5x5 to 8x8, and no two alike. - Empty boards, where every piece is yours to place. - Part-filled boards, where the level has made a start for you. - Boards with one kind of piece already set. - Full boards where pieces stand in the wrong places and have to be rearranged. - Boards with hidden pieces, marked only by a question mark. THE PIECES: - King, queen, rook, bishop and knight move as they do in chess. - The pawn attacks all four diagonals, not only the two ahead. - The prince leaps exactly two squares and cannot touch the ones beside it. - The princess is a queen that never reaches further than three squares. WHEN YOU ARE STUCK: - A hint puts one piece where a solution has it. - Hints are paid for in credits, which every finished level earns. - More credits arrive on their own once a day. - No board ever needs a hint to be solved. WHAT YOU CAN SET: - Auto check: let the board answer as you play, or only when you ask. - Undo and Reset: on the board, or out of the way. - Piece colour, and sound on or off. HOW A SESSION GOES: - Nine boards at a time, and a fresh set whenever you want one. - Filter by difficulty or by kind of board. - A half-finished board waits exactly where you left it. - Statistics show how much of the game you have solved, by difficulty and by kind. LEARNING IT: - A six-step lesson teaches the rules on a board rather than in a wall of text. - Pieces and rules is a reference you can open at any time. - Every board says what it is asking for, in one line.
