Full description
LonelyDen is a quiet pocket field guide for the outdoor naturalist — the kind of person who pulls off a trail because something rustled in the brush, and who keeps a list of every animal they have ever seen. It brings track identification, a curated wildlife atlas, a personal sightings logbook, and a seasonal activity calendar together in one calm, offline-friendly app for the whole forest — not just one slice of it. When you find a print in the mud, a pile of scat, a claw-marked tree, or hear a call at dusk, open Identify. Pick the kind of sign you found and walk through a short set of plain questions — how many toes, are the claws showing, how big, what gait — until the candidates narrow to a few species you can compare side by side. Tap any match to open its full atlas page, or save it straight to your sightings. Browse the Atlas when you want to learn for its own sake. Every species has its photographs, a stylised range map painted onto the continent it lives on, its size, diet, active hours, lifespan and conservation status, the shape of the print its feet leave, a note on its scat, and its call played back through your phone — with a half-speed mode for learning the sound. Photos come from the open Wikimedia Commons project and every image is credited inside the app. KEY FEATURES ✓ Identify by questions — track, scat, sign, and sound, each with its own short decision tree that narrows to ranked candidate species ✓ A curated Atlas of the wild animals of North America and Europe, with photos, range maps, footprints and calls ✓ Your private Sightings logbook — log a species, a place, a date, a note in seconds, entirely on your device ✓ A growing Lifelist with milestone badges at 1, 10, 25, 50 and 100 species ✓ Season view — see what is in rut, migrating, denning, hibernating or most visible this month, with a fresh "this week" note ✓ Procedural footprint and range illustrations drawn for every species ✓ Wildlife calls sourced from open Creative-Commons recordings, credited in-app ✓ A calm, dark, lantern-lit design made for the trail HOW IT WORKS 1. Find a track, scat, sign, or sound out in the wild. 2. Open Identify, choose the kind of sign, and answer a few quick questions. 3. Compare the ranked candidates and open the species you think it was. 4. Save it to your Sightings — your Lifelist grows with every new species. WHY LONELYDEN — It is a field companion, not a social network or a citizen-science platform. Your Lifelist and sightings stay on your device. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking. The only thing that ever leaves your phone is an anonymous request for a species photo or call, fetched from public wildlife archives as you browse. PRIVACY / DATA — Your sightings and Lifelist are stored only on your device. No account, no tracking, no ads. Species photos and calls are fetched anonymously from public archives (Wikimedia Commons, iNaturalist) as you browse. Pull off the trail, listen to the woods, and keep a quiet list of everything you find. LonelyDen helps you understand what was out there.
