Full description
Universal Fire Remote turns your phone into a remote control for Fire TV. It works over your home Wi-Fi, with no infrared, no Bluetooth pairing and no physical remote needed. Lost the remote, or the batteries died? Open the app and keep watching. WE KEEP ADS OUT OF YOUR WAY We know how annoying ads can be, so we keep them to a minimum. There are no ads while you are using the remote: no pop-ups when you press a button, no video before you can change the channel. You will only see a small banner at the bottom of the screen, and a single full-screen ad when you add a new TV, which most people do once. The app is free, and those few ads are what pay for it. Universal Fire Remote is made for Fire TV only: Fire TV streaming devices and Fire TV smart TVs. It does not control other TV brands. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Navigate menus with the direction pad. Hold a direction to keep scrolling. • Select, Back, Home and Menu buttons • Play, pause, rewind and fast-forward • Put your Fire TV to sleep • Live keyboard: text appears on the TV as you type, with the ability to paste directly into it, so searching and entering emails and passwords is fast • Type in English or Arabic • Finds Fire TV devices on your Wi-Fi automatically, or add one by IP address • Remembers your paired TVs and reconnects to the last one you used • Control several Fire TVs from one phone HOW TO CONNECT YOUR FIRE TV 1. Connect your phone and your Fire TV to the same Wi-Fi network. 2. Open Universal Fire Remote and choose your TV under "On this network". 3. Enter the 4-digit PIN shown on your TV screen. Done. Your phone is now your Fire TV remote. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How can I control my Fire TV without the remote? Install Universal Fire Remote on your phone, connect it to the same Wi-Fi network as your Fire TV, choose your TV in the app and enter the PIN shown on the screen. You can then navigate, play, pause and type from your phone. How many ads are there? Very few. A small banner sits at the bottom of the screen, and one full-screen ad appears when you add a new TV. The remote itself is never interrupted by ads. Does it work with Samsung, LG or other TVs? No. Despite the name, Universal Fire Remote works only with Fire TV devices and Fire TV smart TVs. Does the app need Wi-Fi? Yes. Your phone and your Fire TV must be on the same Wi-Fi network. The app does not use infrared. My Fire TV does not appear in the app. What should I do? Check that the TV is on and that both devices use the same Wi-Fi network. If it still does not appear, find your TV's IP address under Settings > My Fire TV > About > Network, then use "Add by IP address" in the app. Can I type on my Fire TV using my phone keyboard? Yes. Open the keyboard in the app and your text appears on the TV as you type. Can I type in Arabic? Yes. The keyboard supports English and Arabic. Can I change the volume? No. Volume control is not supported. Use your TV's own remote or buttons for volume. Is Universal Fire Remote free? Yes. The app is free, paid for by the small banner and the occasional full-screen ad. Is my data safe? The app has no accounts and does not send your data to our servers. Paired TVs are stored securely on your phone, and commands go directly from your phone to your TV. Universal Fire Remote is an independent app by LOGIRA. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Amazon. Fire TV is a trademark of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.
