Full description
Lexo is a private AI keyboard for Android. Voice typing and next-word prediction both run entirely on device, so once setup is done the keyboard keeps working with no internet connection, in airplane mode, and anywhere the signal drops. After installing, open Lexo once to switch it on. The app walks you through it: pick your language, turn Lexo on in Android's keyboard settings, make it your keyboard, then try it out. Cloud keyboards send what you type to a server and wait for the answer. Lexo puts the models on your phone instead: the typing model downloads once, plus the speech recognizer if you use voice, then they live in the app's private storage. Nothing you type or say leaves the phone. No sign-up, no ads. Offline voice typing (Premium) - Speak instead of typing, anywhere a keyboard works - Speech to text runs locally; no audio is ever uploaded - Optional cleanup adds punctuation, capitalization and filler removal, on the phone (off by default) - Names in your personal dictionary come out spelled your way, and saying a text shortcut inserts its full text - English dictation with cleanup on matches the app: chat messages skip the final period, email keeps full punctuation. Change it per app - English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Swedish, Polish, Turkish and Czech On-device AI suggestions (Premium) - A local language model predicts your next word as you type - Autocorrect that fixes typos as you go - Glide typing: swipe across the letters to write a word - A personal dictionary learns your names, slang and shortcuts, and never leaves your phone - Typing in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Swedish, Polish, Turkish and Czech Why local AI changes the typing experience - No latency floor. Suggestions never wait on a round trip, so the strip keeps up with a fast thumb. - No dead zones. A plane, a basement, a tunnel: offline AI behaves the same everywhere. Private because of how it is built - Once setup is done, typing and dictating generate no network traffic. Check it yourself with a network monitor. - Internet access is used for the model downloads, Google Play billing, and crash reports, which stay off unless you turn them on in Settings. - The permission list is short: microphone for dictation, vibration for key feedback, notifications for download progress, plus internet and network state. - No keystroke logging, no typed text in analytics, no profile built from what you write. Everything else you expect from a keyboard - Ask Lexo: change a setting or get an answer by asking in your own words, answered on your phone - Quick switching between languages and layouts - Emoji keyboard and clipboard history - Light and dark themes with automatic day and night switching - One-handed mode for larger phones - Customizable key sounds, vibration, and gestures Pricing, and what happens after the trial Lexo is a paid keyboard. Every install starts with a 30-day Premium trial covering everything the on-device models power: offline voice typing, next-word prediction, the suggestion strip and autocorrect, and glide typing. After that those features stop until you buy Premium: a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Without Premium the keyboard still types: layouts, language switching, emoji, clipboard history, themes, one-handed mode and gestures. No ads either way. About the first-run download Setup downloads the typing model for your language once, over Wi-Fi by default. Its size depends on the language. Voice typing downloads its own speech pack the first time you use the microphone, and some extra languages add their own. App updates do not re-download any of it. Built on the open-source FlorisBoard project, with open-weight models: Gemma 3 270M (Gemma Terms of Use); SmolLM2, Qwen2.5, ELECTRA, MiniLM, KB-Whisper and OPUS-MT (Apache-2.0); Whisper large-v3 turbo and Silero VAD (MIT); NVIDIA Parakeet and OPUS-MT tc-big (CC-BY-4.0). What's new

Voice typing now tidies punctuation and wording by default. To keep your exact words, turn off "Auto-clean voice typing" in Settings. The period key now shows its swipes: "!" left, "?" right. New "Hold space to Ask Lexo" tip on your first few keyboard opens. The key sound volume slider now changes loudness evenly across its range. Fixed the keyboard sometimes opening blank until touched.
