Duel Box - Challenge

Thirteen classic two-player games in one app. Play across a table on a single phone, against the computer, on two phones over Bluetooth, or online with a friend anywhere. No account needed, and everything except online play works with no internet connection at all. THE GAMES • Sea Battle: hide your fleet, find theirs first. Both players place their ships at the same time, and a "pass the device" screen keeps your board yours. • Backgammon: the full game: the bar, hitting, doubles played four times, and bearing off. • Tic-Tac-Toe: three in a row, over in a minute. • Four in a Row: drop discs down seven columns and line up four. • Dots and Boxes: draw a line, close a box, and take another turn. • Ludo: race four tokens home on the classic cross board, and send theirs back on the way. • Word Duel: hangman both ways at once. Set a word for them, crack the one they set for you. • Puck Duel: real time. Two mallets, one puck, first to seven goals. • Checkers: international draughts on a 10×10 board. Kings fly the length of a diagonal, and you must always take the most you can. • Blackjack: get closer to 21 than they do. A duel between two hands, not a game against a dealer. • Darts: aim, flick, and hold your nerve on the double. Count down from 501 or 301 and finish on a double. • Archery: draw, hold, read the wind, and loose. Play for set points or for the highest total. • Pig: push your luck with one die. Roll as often as you dare, but a one loses the lot. First to 100. FOUR WAYS TO PLAY • Pass and play: two people, one phone. • Play the computer: three difficulty levels in every game. • Two devices: find a friend nearby over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and play on your own screens. • Online: for the turn-based games. WORKS OFFLINE, NO ACCOUNT Two-device play uses a direct Bluetooth and Wi-Fi link between the two phones, with nothing going over the internet. Pass and play, the computer and two devices all work with the phone in aeroplane mode. Online play is the one exception: the two phones meet in a room on Google's Firebase Realtime Database, which carries your name and your moves to the other player, and the room is deleted when the match ends. There is no account to make: the app signs in anonymously. Walk out of range or lose your signal mid-match and the game pauses instead of forfeiting. Come back and it picks up exactly where it stopped, with nothing lost. WHAT IS NOT IN IT No ads. No in-app purchases. No account to make. The app sends usage statistics through Google Analytics for Firebase — app opens, how long it is used and what kind of phone it is, with an installation ID and Android's advertising ID — to help decide what to work on next. You can switch that off in Settings, and your name, your board and your moves are never part of those statistics. If Android backup is on, your saves and records are included in your phone's backup to your Google account.
