Full description
Universal TV Remote Control is the TV remote app that turns your phone into a TV controller for every television you own: smart TVs over Wi-Fi, and older sets over infrared. Lost the handset, broken buttons, dead batteries? Pick up your phone and you're back in charge in seconds. It's free and easy to use. No account and no sign-up: open the app, choose your TV and start pressing. SMART TV CONTROL OVER WI-FI Keep your phone and TV on the same Wi-Fi network. The app speaks each brand's own control protocol rather than a one-size-fits-all guess, which is why this smart TV remote reaches sets that generic apps miss. • Samsung: Tizen smart TVs • LG: webOS, and the older NetCast sets from around 2010 to 2013 • Hisense: VIDAA, including recent firmware that shows a pairing code on screen • Toshiba: the VIDAA sets Toshiba sells under its own name • Roku: Roku TVs from TCL, Hisense and Sharp, plus Roku streaming players • Android TV and Google TV remote, including TCL, Sony and Chromecast with Google TV: paired with a code shown on screen • Amazon Fire TV sticks and Fire TV Edition sets from Insignia and Toshiba • Sony Bravia, Vizio SmartCast, Panasonic Viera and Philips • Bush, Alba, Hitachi and other smart TVs built by Vestel • Other UPnP and DIAL devices, as a fallback INFRARED FOR TVS THAT NEVER WENT ONLINE With a built-in IR blaster, your phone becomes an IR remote for more than 110 TV brands. It works offline: no Wi-Fi, no internet, no pairing. Point and press. • Toshiba, Sharp, Hitachi, Sanyo, Akai, Grundig, Thomson, Daewoo, JVC, RCA, Haier, Bush, Zenith and many more • Brands with several handsets give you several to try • Most include a full number keypad, so you can go straight to a channel EVERYTHING YOUR OLD CLICKER DID, AND MORE • Save time searching: type a film title with your phone keyboard, or tap the microphone and say it. • Switch the TV on, not only off: Wake-on-LAN brings supported smart TVs out of standby. • Never lose your place: D-pad, swipe touchpad, number keypad, volume, mute, channels, input, play, pause, rewind, record, guide, info and the coloured buttons. • Find your TV without fuss: discovery scans your network several ways at once, so a set that ignores one method is found by another. • Reconnect in one tap: the app remembers every TV you've paired. • Jump straight into Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+, Spotify, DStv and Showmax, on the TVs that allow it. PRIVATE AND SECURE BY DESIGN Commands travel straight from your phone to your TV across your own home network. Nothing passes through an outside server and the app never tracks what you watch, for real peace of mind. If a TV won't connect, built-in diagnostics make a report you can send to support. QUESTIONS Is this a universal remote for every brand? For most. Smart TVs connect as a wifi remote with the brands above; older TVs work over infrared on phones with an IR blaster. Does it work without Wi-Fi? Yes, on phones with an IR blaster. Infrared needs a line of sight, not a network. Does my phone have an IR blaster? Many Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco, Huawei, Honor and TCL phones do; most Samsung and Google phones do not. Without one, Wi-Fi control still works with smart TVs. Why isn't my smart TV found? The TV and the phone must be on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest networks, VPNs and split 2.4GHz/5GHz bands are the usual cause. Check the TV is on, then scan again. SUPPORT AND MODEL REQUESTS If your TV isn't listed or a button doesn't do what it should, email [email protected] with your TV brand and the model number of its handset. New models are added from real reports. Universal TV Remote Control is an independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by Samsung, LG, Hisense, Sony, TCL, Toshiba, Roku, Vizio, Panasonic, Philips, Amazon or Google.
