LOCATION AND PRIVACY BorderCount collects location data to work out which country and region you are in, which is what produces your day count. If you turn automatic tracking on, it collects location in the background, including when the app is closed or not in use, so it can tell when you cross a border. It does not follow you continuously and does not record your route: it takes a single reading when one of its triggers fires, resolves the country on your device, and saves a record only when your country or state actually changes. Your location is never sold and never shared with third parties, and it is encrypted in transit. Automatic tracking is optional and off by default. You can turn it off at any time, and you can delete your data in Settings.
