Seocheon: Offline Pixel JRPG

A retro 16-bit pixel JRPG drawn from Korean shamanic myth: a story RPG with turn-based battles you plan in time, three endings, and the whole tale playable offline. Bari, the seventh princess, was sealed in a jade box and cast into the river the day she was born. Raised by an old village shaman, she climbs the mountain to see her grandmother off to the land of the dead, and finds the road to the underworld shut. Souls that cannot cross turn into vengeful ghosts, and the living start to seek the flowers of Seocheon, the garden that brings back the dead. A new story built on the bones of Korean shamanic myth, the Song of Princess Bari first among them. Walk to the garden with Gangnim, a living man who carries the underworld's warrant; Oneul, a child who lost her seasons; and Jacheongbi, a scholar who is not what he seems. ■ A story where choices stay • A prologue, eight chapters and three endings • What to do with Arang's killer, whether to let the boy of the burning garden live, what to choose before your father's bier: each comes back in the chapters after • You can reach the best ending without forgiving your father ■ Turn-based battles you plan in time • The strip at the top of the screen shows what the enemy will do, and when • Plant seeds in moments still to come and break the enemy's plans • Destroy a ghost, or ease its grudge and lay it to rest; which you chose returns in the last fight • Battle speed 1×, 2× or 4× ■ One hand, offline, any time • Portrait, one thumb for walking, talking and fighting • Saves itself whenever you enter a map or start a battle, so you can stop at any moment and go on later • The whole story plays offline (only the ads need a connection) • 22 languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Spanish (Latin America and Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), French, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian, Indonesian, Malay, Filipino, Vietnamese, Thai and Arabic ■ Ads and purchases • The story is free from beginning to end • Full-screen ads come only where a chapter ends, and never on the day you install • Rewarded ads play only when you choose one (a fight's rewards once more, two more petals when trying a boss again) • Remove ads: the only purchase, $2.99 once.
