Machine need to be run 4 times to get vibration readings in order to calculate the best location to balance the rotor. This method only can be used for single plane only. 2. Phase balancing If rotating phase is available then balancing can be done for many planes. For single plane balancing using phase, vector polar plot can be used to manually calculate the result. For two planes and more, specific balancer calculator or spreadsheet is necessary as the calculation will be complicated. 3. Overhung balancing Overhung machine balancing involve two planes with special calculation. There are other more methods out there.
