Vellum is a private diary built on one simple idea: what you write is yours, and it should stay on your device. Vellum has no internet permission. It cannot connect to a network, so nothing you write is ever uploaded, synced, or shared. There is no account to create and no sign-up. You can verify this yourself: check the app's permissions and you will find no network access at all. WELL PROTECTED Your entries are stored in an encrypted database using AES-256. The encryption key is generated on your device, never stored in readable form, and protected by a PIN you choose. You can add an optional biometric unlock and an optional twelve-word recovery phrase so you can restore your entries if you forget your PIN. YOURS TO KEEP Export an encrypted backup whenever you want, stored wherever you choose. Nothing is uploaded on your behalf.
