Crumb: Sourdough Companion

Hey, I'm Jan, and I built Crumb because I'm a bit of a nerd and also love to bake sourdough. I love data, and tracking different metrics related to my baking in the effort to make the perfect loaf. Some might say sourdough isn't about science, but that's precisely what I love about baking! Perfect measurements and recipe tracking. What started as a personal project to keep my own recipes and logs organized has turned into a tool that I thought other bakers might find useful, too. My goal was to create a simple, beautiful, and powerful companion for my own baking journey. Here’s what it can do for yours: A Digital Recipe Book: I needed a clean place to save my recipes. Crumb lets you store all your formulas, complete with photos and detailed methods. The best part is the scaling – just tell it you want to make 1 loaf instead of 2, or specify a new total flour weight, and it does all the math for you. It even has a "smart string" feature, so an instruction like "add {[Water|87.5%]}" will update automatically when you scale. A Detailed Bake Journal: Every bake is a learning experience. The bake log lets you create a step-by-step diary of your entire process. You can add photos of your dough's progress, log temperatures, and set timers for each stage, creating a perfect record to look back on. Learn From Your Bakes: To figure out what went right (or wrong!), the "Compare Bakes" feature lets you pull up two past results side-by-side. You can easily see how changing your bulk fermentation time or proofing temperature affected your final loaf. A Happy Starter: You can't have sourdough without a healthy starter. The app lets you track multiple starters and log all your feedings. You can set custom feeding intervals, and the dashboard will remind you when it's time for the next one. Powerful Baking Calculators: * Bulk Fermentation Calculator: Estimate your bulk fermentation time based on dough temperature, inoculation, and hydration. * Desired Dough Temperature (DDT) Calculator: Determine the ideal water temperature for your dough. * Yeast & Sourdough Converter: Easily convert recipes between commercial yeast and sourdough, and vice-versa. **My Philosophy:** Crumb is my passion project. It's free, with no ads or subscriptions, because why not. All of your data is stored privately and securely on your own device—I don't collect any of it.
