IV Guardian

IV Guardian — inspired by everyday nursing work I am a nursing student. During clinical placements, I wondered if reminders before an IV's estimated finish time could help with timely checks. That inspired IV Guardian. Time-based IV reminders and recurring care alerts are at its heart, supported by calculations, team features and Wear OS. IV REMINDERS • Enter IV volume and flow rate to calculate an estimated finish time. • Default alerts are 10 and 5 minutes before that estimate. Choose up to three advance reminder times. • Organize IVs by room and bed, and manage their start, update and removal status. • The app does not detect actual remaining fluid or flow. Estimates depend on your entries and may differ from actual infusion progress. RECURRING CARE ALERTS Set reminders for tasks such as repositioning, urine output checks and vital-sign checks. Customize care names and intervals, then turn the relevant reminders on or off for each bed. TEAM ROOMS AND HANDOVERS • Invite colleagues to a shared work room through friends, an invitation code or QR code. • Receive alerts for all rooms or your assigned area. • Hand over areas between shifts or delegate alerts during a break. During break delegation, both colleagues can receive the relevant alerts. • End your shift to stop work alerts. Start work again to receive alerts for your current work room. CALCULATIONS AND GTT SUPPORT Calculate a flow rate in mL/hr from the prescribed values you enter, then use the result to register an IV for a bed. The GTT tool provides a drop-interval reference based on the entered flow rate and administration set's drop factor. The default drop factor is 20 gtt/mL: 20 drops per millilitre. Check the value printed on your administration set and adjust the setting accordingly. The app does not measure flow or control infusion equipment. WEAR OS COMPANION Check reminders on your wrist. • View and start IVs that are waiting to begin. Started IVs leave the waiting list; it is not a list of all running infusions. • Use a vibration metronome as a GTT interval reference. • Receive IV and care alerts through on-screen notifications and vibration. Watch features require a compatible Wear OS watch and a separately installed, connected companion app. The phone app can be used without a watch. GETTING STARTED Sign in with Google and use a personal or shared room. Configure shared rooms and beds in Work settings. Enter IV volume and flow rate without patient identifiers, start the timer when administration begins, and check alerts. Keep IV status and assignments up to date. LANGUAGES AND ACCESS Choose from 10 language settings, including Korean, English, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese. AI-assisted translations may contain errors; please report unclear wording through Contact in the app. Eligible new accounts receive a 14-day trial. Afterwards, Free provides a personal room with limits; shared rooms and full access require Premium. Premium offers 4-week (28-day) auto-renewing or prepaid plans.
