Full description
IngredientCheck is a food scanner and ingredient checker that turns any barcode into a clear ingredient report. Scan a product while you are still in the shop, see what is really in it, and decide for yourself. No account, no subscription, no ads. WHAT THE SCANNER DOES Point your camera at the barcode on food, drinks or cosmetics. IngredientCheck retrieves the full ingredient list and checks every entry against a database of more than 300 additives, preservatives, E numbers, synthetic compounds and controversial chemicals. Anything of concern is flagged with a colour-coded warning and a plain explanation of why it is flagged. It works as a food additives checker and an E numbers scanner in one. HEALTH PROFILES Set the app up for your own situation and it highlights only what is relevant to you: Pregnancy and breastfeeding Children and elderly Keto, paleo, vegan, vegetarian No seed oils, low sugar, avoid artificial additives Clean beauty for cosmetics PERSONAL ALLERGIES Add your allergens once and get an automatic warning whenever a scanned product contains one of them. The allergen scanner covers gluten, lactose, nuts, soy, egg, fish and more, and your allergy list never leaves your phone. NOT ONLY WARNINGS IngredientCheck also recognises hundreds of beneficial ingredients and explains what they actually do for you, so every scan tells you what is good in a product as well as what is not. PROCESSING LEVEL Each product gets a NOVA processing score, from unprocessed whole food to ultra-processed, so you can see at a glance how far a product is from its raw ingredients. If you are cutting down on ultra processed food, this is the number to look at first. HEALTHIER ALTERNATIVES When a product contains something you would rather avoid, the app suggests what to look for instead, which makes healthy eating easier without reading every label yourself. INGREDIENT WIKI Browse the complete ingredient database, search it by name, and read detailed explanations of the health concerns behind each entry. The wiki works offline, so you can look up an additive or E number anywhere. PRIVACY BY DESIGN No account and no sign-up No personal data collected, shared or sold No advertising and no tracking Allergies, health profile, favourites and scan history stay on your device, encrypted with AES-256 Only the barcode itself is ever sent to the product databases Product information comes from OpenFoodFacts, OpenBeautyFacts and USDA FoodData Central. These are community-maintained databases, so a product may occasionally be missing or have an incomplete ingredient list. When that happens the app helps you add it, so scanning makes the database better for everyone. Available in 16 languages: English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Polish, Swedish, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic and Hindi. IngredientCheck provides educational information only and is not medical advice. Always consult a healthcare professional for medical decisions.

What's new

Faster scans, cleaner lists, more to see • Scanning is much faster, especially long cosmetics labels. • No repeated ingredients; those inside brackets are read too. • Fairer verdict, with the NOVA score counted in. • Nutrition per 100 g on its own tab, plus a share button. • Search finds what you type, every time. • Offline or a busy database is said plainly, not "not found". • Wiki: duplicates removed, new PFAS and pesticides.
